The thermal power plant leaderboard will be refreshed!

At 22:40 on June 19th, Guangdong Huaxia Yangxi Power Plant Phase II project No. 5 units of the second phase of Guangdong Huaxia Yangxi Power Plant constructed by China Energy Construction Southern Construction Investment Guangdong Thermal Power Co., Ltd. successfully completed the grid connection work, achieving an initial load of 10%. Previously, Unit 6 had just completed the flushing node.

The intelligent front-end used in this project is manufactured and provided by Wuxi East China Power Station Automation Instrument Co., Ltd.!

It is understood that Guangdong Huaxia Yangxi Power Plant is invested by Guangdong Pearl River Investment Management Group Co., Ltd., and its wholly-owned subsidiary Yangxi Haibin Power Development Co., Ltd. is responsible for the construction and operation. It is located in Qingwanzai Village, Yangxi County, Yangjiang City. The total planned installed capacity of the power plant is 7480MW, and the total investment is 32 billion yuan. Among them, the #1 and #2 units (2×600MW) of the first phase project were put into operation in September and December 2009 respectively; the #3 and #4 units (2×660MW) ) were put into operation in October and December 2013 respectively. The first two #5 and #6 units of the second phase project (4×1240MW) use 1240MW ultra-supercritical coal-fired generating units independently developed by Shanghai Electric Group. Currently, unit #5 has been connected to the grid and unit #6 is under construction. Units #5 and #6 are also the largest conventional coal-fired generating units in Asia.

According to the "2018 Global Electricity Report" ranking, as of the end of 2018, the world's top ten coal-fired power stations are:

1. Tuoketuo Power Plant with an installed capacity of 6720MW

2. Taian Power Plant (South Korea) with an installed capacity of 6100MW

3. Dangjin Power Plant (South Korea) with an installed capacity of 6000MW

4. Taichung Power Plant with an installed capacity of 5700MW

5. Bichadu Power Plant (Poland) with an installed capacity of 5300MW

6. Jiaxing Power Plant with an installed capacity of 5120MW

7. Waigaoqiao Power Plant, installed capacity of 5100MW

8. Yongxing Power Plant (South Korea) with an installed capacity of 5080MW

9. Guodian Beilun Power Plant with an installed capacity of 5000MW

10. Guohua Taishan Power Plant Installed capacity of 5000MW (currently installed, planned installed capacity of 9000MW)

If the #6 unit of Yangxi Power Plant is put into operation this year, the installed capacity of Yangxi Power Plant will reach 5,000MW, and the ranking of the top ten coal-fired power plants in the world will also be refreshed.

However, in view of the current development situation of my country's thermal power industry, it is very common that the units cannot be fully powered or even shut down.

Last year, the national average utilization hours of thermal power equipment was only 4,361 hours (including coal-fired power generation and gas-fired power generation). The "Operation Profile of the Electric Power Industry from January to May 2019" just released by the China Electricity Council also shows that the average utilization hours of thermal power equipment nationwide from January to May 2019 was 1,728 hours (among which, the average utilization hours of coal-fired power generation and gas-fired power generation equipment were 1783 and 971 hours, respectively), a decrease of 48 hours from the same period last year. Among them, the utilization hours of Guangdong thermal power from January to May 2019 decreased by 402 hours year-on-year. This is not a good trend for Yangxi Power Plant.
